Description

Primary Purpose:

Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking Summer School Principal(s). The summer school principal plays a critical role in the successful planning, coordination, and execution of the district summer school program. This temporary position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment, and collaborating with district leadership to achieve the program's educational goals.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Program Leadership: 

  • Provide visionary leadership to ensure the success of the summer school program. 
  • Collaborate with district administrators to align summer school goals with broader educational objectives. 

 

Operations Management: 

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including scheduling, staffing, and facilities management.  
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and procedures.

 

Staff supervision: 

  • Recruit, hire, and train qualified staff for instructional and support roles. 
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations and provide support 

Curriculum and Instruction: 

  • Collaborate with district curriculum directors to implement a robust and engaging curriculum. 
  • Monitor and evaluate instructional practices to ensure alignment with educational standards. 
  • Data analysis and reporting collect and analyze data on student performance.
  • Generate reports to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future planning. 

    Communication: 

  • Establish effective communication channels with students, parents, and staff
  • Provide regular updates to district leadership on program progress

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional best practices.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education Administration
  • Principal certification preferred.
  • Prior experience in school administration or leadership roles.
