Normandy Schools Collaborative is seeking a Math Coach. This position will report to the Director of Mathematics and serve as an instructional expert and provides leadership in Mathematics through coaching, technical support, professional development, and resources aligned to the standards and the Normandy Schools Collaborative Evaluation Framework. This role works with teachers, administrators and the Curriculum and Instruction Department to determine the need for and purpose of targeted teacher support, and schedules and maintains accurate records of all activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with school-based and district staff.
- Conducts an instructional needs assessment of Mathematics teachers and provide individualized support for all assigned Mathematics courses.
- Uses formal and informal data to identify and provide feedback and support to teachers.
- Collaborates to design and deliver new professional development sessions annually and coordinate all professional development opportunities for Mathematics teachers.
- Supports teachers in planning for and delivering instruction that is aligned to the standards and is tailored to all learners (including Diverse Learners and English Language Learners).
- Gathers accurate evidence during classroom observations using a teaching rubric;
- Provides data-based, constructive, and timely feedback to teachers using the framework for observation.
- Provides differentiated instructional support by working directly with teachers in the classroom to model, co-plan and co-teach effective, research-based instructional strategies.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Missouri Teacher Certification appropriate for level and/or subject area of assignment.
- Recognized as a master level teacher with at least five years of successful teaching experience and/or other related experiences
- Proven leadership ability and ability to work well with others and motivate others to perform at high levels
- Exemplary communication and organizational skills with a diverse group of people
